Thistle's parents were caught by humans about a turn before she was born. Oakspear died, but Wildfire made it to the river and escaped. She was wounded, though, and it was New green and the river flooded. She couln't swim across it and was carried far from the holt lands. Realizing she couldn't travel back on foot weakened and pregnant she settled down for a winter, befriendingg a small wolfpack. She raised her cub the best she could and travelled slowly for the Holt. She wasn't in a hurry and she forgot her travel occasionally when the Now took over her. One day three turns ago Wildfire and most of the pack were killed in a landslide, leaving only cub and two wolves, one of them an old male , the other Thistle's bond. The wolves hunted for the and they lived quite well, but Thistle begun to forget elfin habits, including speech, after first year. Not long before stumbling on Hidden River Holt she was attacked by a tuskhog who wounded her. The wound resulted in blood poisoning and she was quite delirious when she was found. She was almost 5 at that time. After living in the holt for two turns she still has some wolfish characteristics about her behavior though she has learned to be more elfin. She tends to use very short sentences, moreso when agitated, and follows only Foxtide's orders. The only other person in the holt she seems to respect is Upwind, the rest of them she ignores, snubs and in most ways bucks by refusing to accept that she's a cub and not an elder or chieftess. |
