Born of the recognition of two who were strangers, her mother found that she could not love, and soon learned to dislike the father of her cub. The gentle Plainsrunner could not understand or accept the Wolfrider's ways and so she turned to her own parents, but soon after the cub was born those same elves were killed in a stampede and she had no choice but to turn to the wolfrider she hated. Her grief was the death of her love for her child, a child who every day was more and more like the hated sire. Eventually Stormwing would take his daughter and the pair would wander a short while before returning to the holt of his birth. Greensdark had, by this time, learned her soulname and been given a new name by a stranger who found her unconscious and reunited her with her sire. In Hidden River she honed the skills of her mother and learned the roots, fruits and leaves that could be eaten from the forest. In time Junner came and though the pair often had spirited disagreements, the only time Greensdark was ever known to quarrel, they remained lovemates. In time that changed, Junner lashed out at her more and more until she could no longer forgive him. Head up she carried her possessions from the den they shared and never let him see her cry. He never apologized to her but did try to tease her back to the den. |
